Stitching Narratives: A Cyanotype and Embroidery Workshop with José Villalobos
Stitching Narratives: A Cyanotype and Embroidery Workshop with José Villalobos
June 14
1 PM or 3 PM

2 Sessions
Tuition: Free, Registration Required

Join artist Jose Villalobos as you discover the art of storytelling as he guides participants through the cyanotype process to create an image using found objects.

Invented in 1842, the cyanotype is an early photographic technique that uses sunlight to reveal stunning blue print of any desired object. Instead of traditional paper cyanotypes, participants will work with cyanotype fabric to create art that tells a story. Participants can then enhance their piece with embroider; adding texture, color, and depth to their personal narrative.

All materials are provided. Participants are encouraged to bring any small found objects to contribute to their artwork.

Registration is required.

Session 1: 1:00-2:30 PM.

Session 2: 3:00-4:30 PM.

Support for this event is provided by the Wilma D. Moleen Foundation and the Mellon Foundation
