For seven years, the El Paso Museum of Art and Socorro Independent School District (SISD) have collaborated on this annual student art showcase. This exhibition aims to celebrate the diverse perspectives, innovative ideas, and raw talent of this next generation of emerging artists.
Participating students from Americas, Eastlake, Montwood, Pebble Hills, and Socorro High Schools met at the museum in the months leading up to the exhibition. Museum staff provided insights into art collection care and career pathways in the arts. For this student showcase, the El Paso Museum of Art permanent collection serves as inspiration for art making and for understanding best museum practices.
The 7th annual SISD Student Showcase is a collaboration between El Paso Museum of Art and the Socorro Independent School District Fine Arts Department. Funding for this exhibition is provided by Texas Commission on the Arts, the El Paso Museum of Art Foundation, and the City of El Paso Museums and Cultural Affairs Department.
