Artist María Sada belongs to a generation of Mexican artists that have innovated traditional Mexican art. She has formed an understanding of landscapes through a contemporary lens. This exhibition contrasts ten lithographs of desert landscapes with a painting of a small rocky island. Together the works invite dialogue with nature and offer an opportunity for the viewer to notice the small details often overlooked. Works on display are a reminder of the delicate balance between nature and humanity.
Support for this exhibition is provided by the Mellon Foundation, the Texas Commission on the Arts, the El Paso Museum of Art Foundation, and the City of El Paso Museums and Cultural Affairs Department.
