El Paso Barroco and the El Paso Museum of Art present Jonah Ahlers (Peabody Conservatory) for a musical afternoon featuring the baroque flute.

Join us for a concert featuring several El Paso premieres on baroque instruments and experience the sounds the masters of the past wrote for.

Jonah Ahlers is a historical and modern flutist from Lancaster, PA, now living in Baltimore, MD. As an active chamber musician, he performs on historical transverse flutes, recorders, and modern flutes; he recently toured as a guest artist with the Baltimore-based early music ensemble Basso Celestia. As a church musician, he has performed on flutes and organ in recitals and during services at churches throughout Lancaster County. He is also an active orchestral musician, having played in many large ensembles, including the Allegro Chamber Orchestra of Lancaster, Baltimore Baroque Band, Peabody Renaissance Ensemble, and Berwick Academy Orchestra. At Peabody Conservatory, he is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Music in Historical Flute Performance under Gwyn Roberts.
