EPMA Members are invited to a curated exclusive art studio tour. Preview Julie Speed’s creative process and works in progress. See new works within the very environment in which they were created, along with the remarkable opportunity to speak to the artist.

Speed has been working as an artist in Texas since 1978, and residing in Marfa since 2006. Her recent EPMA exhibition, Julie Speed: East of the Sun and West of the Moon, on view through April 7, feature nearly fifty works of art from the last five years, many never before exhibited, exploring Speed’s mining of Western and Eastern imagery.

The Chinati and Judd Foundation tour includes a private seated lunch in the Donald Judd Arena, followed by Donald Judd’s, 100 untitled works in mill aluminum, Dan Flavin’s, untitled (Marfa project), Roni Horn’s, Things That Happen Again, Pair Object VII (For a Here and For a There), The John Wesley Gallery, and Bridgette Riley’s mural in the temporary exhibition space. Included in the tour are the spaces that contain furniture by Judd, his early paintings from the 1950s and 1960s, an extensive collection of modernist and period furniture, and works by other prominent twentieth century artists and designers.
