This lecture Led by Tania Gutiérrez-Monroy is assistant professor at the School of Architecture and Landscape Architecture at the University of British Columbia.She studies architecture as a material and signifying practice that spatializes colonial and patriarchal forces as well as resistance mechanisms.
This lecture traces the networks of Indigenous resistance built across urban and rural landscapes within Mexico. Bodies, streets, buildings, plazas, and their nesting landscapes are central to this exploration of the different scales of reclamation by Indigenous peoples who organize against the neoliberal State.
