Mexican folk singer and songwriter Azul Barrientos will perform live at EPMA for an intimate curated performance on the exhibition, Power and Piety: Spanish Colonial Art, on view February 8 - May 5, 2019.

Born in Mexico City, AZUL embraces the mezcla of culture and history from which she comes – the indigena (indigenous), the Española – and reflects that in her music. She received a special invitation to perform for King Felipe and Queen Letizia of Spain during their US visit.

AZUL has co-presented with international stars Lila Downs (USA/Mexico), Eugenia León (Mexico), and Susana Baca (Peru). She has performed internationally in Spain, France, England and Scotland.

Visit the EPMA Store after the performance for photos and autographs. Azul’s recently released CD, Nuestro Corazón will be available for purchase.
